Who am I?

The name's David. Not my actual name, I just picked it as my online nickname and naturally stuck with it.

I am a computer nerd, nose deep in all information technologies, and specializing in videogame programming.
Making games had always been my dream. Initially, I wanted to make games because it sounded cool (checks out when you're a kid), now I want to make them because I have a whole world to share.

How it all started

I discovered computer programming fairly early. I was still a middleschooler, but one with ambition. Like many programmers who began as self-taught, my beginnings were mostly fumbling, not really knowing what I was doing. If you tell a kid he can make videogames by watching tutorials online, who knows what could be happening inside their head.
Well, not me. I forgot.

My first experience was with Eclipse and Java. Because... I probably heard somewhere that Minecraft was written in Java, and logically, I thought "this must be the one!"

Very quickly, I gravitated more towards Unity and Unreal. This is where I learned about C++ and quickly adopted it as my main programming language.

Even during these years, I praised "homemade" software, which is probably why C++ had the most appeal. It was the perfect balance between low-level technologies and flexibility.

I had many ideas I wanted to work on. During highschool, I made my own game engine with which I designed my very own games.

Today, with a lot more experience in the technical realm, I have my own multi-platform engine, several non-game-related projects, and lots of reading on my thoughts about programming and various other topics.
